A vegan sports bar?
While searching for vegan spots in Portland, SportsBox was one of the first places to pull up, and without hesitation, I made it my second stop on this Pacific Northwest trip. Sports and meat eating seem to be pretty synonymous, so a place like this seems very unique. Only in Portland!
The menu is vast, so I wanted to try as much as I could. So I ordered a burger with tots, a pepperoni pizza, and a breakfast muffin for the next day.
If you’re in Portland and looking for a place to watch football, or even better Cardinals postseason, SportsBox has great options and a very friendly staff.

Watermelon can be a great food

Ryan J. Stills has just won another world title at the 2022 IPF World Masters Powerlifting Championships in Canada! He won gold for his total in the 120kg weight class. CONGRATULATIONS Ryan!
In 2019, Ryan went vegan for ethical reasons, and had his first international competition as a vegan at the 2021 IPF World Championships, where he won Gold and Best Lifter Overall in the Masters 1 division. A competitive powerlifter for 30 years, when asked how going vegan impacted his strength, Ryan said, “Once I got my caloric intake dialed in, I was putting up some of the best numbers of my lifting career.”
Adding to his amazing achievements, last weekend Ryan captained Plantbuilt’s Powerlifting team at the Mr America sports competition. Everyone on the team won a medal in their respective categories! Well done all! You can definitely be strong eating plants!
Gold medal win AND National Bench Press Record!
Noah Hannibal competed last weekend at the APU Australian Masters Championships (Masters Division, Heavyweight, Drug Tested), where he not only won gold in his division but broke the national bench press record, lifting 182.5kg!

Noah has never eaten meat and has been vegan since 1991.
His next big comp will be in October, where he will be representing with the Plantbuilt crew at @mr.america_official sports festival in Atlantic City.

Springtime Apple, Kiwi and Cucumber Smoothie!
This smoothie recipe is packed full of healthy fruit and veggies that will help you start your morning off with a good dose of vitamins and minerals.
• 2 Kiwi
• 1 Granny Smith Green Apple
• 1 Medium Cucumber
• 1 Medium Banana
• 1 Cup Baby Spinach (optional)
• 1 Cup Kale (optional)
• ½ Pear
• 1½ Cups Ice Cubes
• 2 Tablespoons Honey (optional)
1. Peal and chop all ingredients into cubes to place into a blender.
2. Place all the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.
3. Refrigerate any leftover smoothie for up to 3 days.
Serving: 2 Glasses
