WHAT IS MUSLIM ? The Arabic word ‘Islam’ means ‘submission’, and is derived from a word meaning ‘peace’. As such, the religion of Islam teaches that in order to achieve true peace of mind and surety of heart, one must submit to God and live according to His Divinely revealed Law.

What Is Muslim ?

Islam is not a new religion because ‘submission to the will of God’, i.e. Islam, has always been the only acceptable religion in the sight of God. For this reason, Islam is the true ‘natural religion’, and it is the same eternal message revealed through the ages to all of God’s prophets and messengers. The main message of all the prophets has always been that there is only One True God and He alone is to be worshipped. These prophets start with Adam and include Nuh@Noah, Ibrahim@Abraham, Musa@Moses, Daud@David, Sulaiman@Solomon, Yahaya@John the Baptist, and Isah ibn Maryam@Jesus, peace be upon them all. God says in the Holy Quran:

“We did not send before you (O Muhammad) any messenger but We revealed to him: ‘none has the right to be worshipped except I, therefore worship Me.’” (Quran 21:25)

However, the true message of these prophets was either lost or got corrupted over time. Even the most recent books, the Taurat @Torah and the Injeel@Gospel were adulterated and hence they lost their credibility to guide the people to the right path. Therefore 600 years after Jesus, God revived the lost message of previous prophets by sending the Prophet Muhammad S.A.W with His final revelation, the Holy Quran, to all of mankind. Since the Prophet Muhammad was the final prophet, God Himself has promised to preserve His last revealed words so that it is a source of guidance for all humanity till the Last Day. It is now imperative for everyone to believe and follow this final message from God. God Almighty says in the Quran:

“We have not sent you (O Muhammad) but to all mankind as a giver of good news and as a warner, but most people do not know.” (Quran 34:28)

“Whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers.” (Quran 3:85)

The word “Muslim” means one who submits to the will of God, regardless of his/her race, nationality or ethnic background. Hence, any person who is ready to submit to the will of God is eligible to become a Muslim.

Why We Never Worry About Corruption ?

Why are our people more busy with the issue of each other’s genitals but never worry about corruption. If you feel dizzy, just make it a condition, don’t do it. Too many people are more concerned with the length or lack of a person’s veil compared to the issue of corruption which places Malaysia among the highest countries in the world in the issue of integrity. The ustaz and ustazah (not all) are mostly more concerned with the appearance of how a Muslim should look. So far, I have never met any of these religious groups, including muftis or NGOs, who have campaigned on a large scale and are consistently aggressive about this culture of corruption. If anyone just coughs on the stairs, just quote one or two verses from the Quran. Thats it!

Is our people’s culture like that?

You know what. LPF has banned drama actors from displaying the issue of corruption among government employees in our content on the grounds that it tarnishes the image of government employees. Funny isn’t it? The issue of corruption has never been considered the most serious issue in Malaysia despite the fact that corruption has reached stage 4 cancer in our country and should have undergone chemo treatment of all kinds. But in Malaysia we still seem to just use water to cure magic.

Malaysia’s corruption for abam has reached pandemic level!

*Pigs and dogs know you’re disgusted, right? But corruption? Cheh!

Malay Audio Genius ?

A Turkish professor once shared about his Malay student who was able to speak Turkish in a perfect accent and accent like the Turks themselves in just 2 weeks after learning Turkish.

This Turkish professor described the Malays as having audio wisdom (audio genius) that does not exist in other nations. And when you think back, we Malays in Malaysia are able to adapt our tongues to follow anyone’s accent. We speak Malay with the Chinese just like the Chinese speak Malay, just like our Indian friends.

I think this trait was born from the evolution of Malay civilization itself. We are the builders of coastal civilizations, we are the builders of city-states and ancient ports that are a stopover for various nations around the world. Srivijaya, Langkasuka, Kedah Tua and Melaka, all became famous ports attracting thousands of people to our land.

Arabic, Chinese, Tamil, Japanese, English, Dutch, all docked at our port. To manage these various races, I think the nature of the Malays’ oath was formed, the nature of tolerance and adaptation to the situation and the nature of the race anchored in the port and their civilization was formed, and the adaptation was inherited by us descendants.

And because of how many Malays I am, I think the race has the most problems with foreign cultures. In Malaysia, it is really difficult to see Chinese or Indians serving entertainment other than in their culture and language. But the Malays are steady. Those who serve Korean stories, the Malays as well. Those who serve Hong Kong Chinese dramas, Malays too. Malays are also the ones who comment on Tamil films. Those who want to be Japanese treat anime as well as Malays.

This I suppose comes from the tolerant nature of our ancestors. It’s common in our genetics to deal with different races, and we don’t have a problem trying to digest and digest their culture. Otherwise, the Malays will not be steady because they serve more than 80 languages spoken in the Port of Melaka first.

Meaning, there are more than 80 different races from all over the world who stop in Melaka, and the Malays are the middle man in managing these international traders.

So, there is no problem for us Malay descendants to be a nation that is very adaptable and tolerant like this. It’s soldered in our DNA.
